How to fill it in
- Put your details at the top once and save the file as your own master copy.
- Give every quote a new number and set a validity date, so prices aren't open-ended.
- Describe each line so the client knows exactly what they're paying for.
- VAT-registered? Keep 5%. Not registered? Set VAT to 0% and delete the TRN line.
- Add payment terms and what's excluded. Those are the lines clients argue about later.
- Send it, and follow up if you don't hear back.
VAT on a UAE quotation: the essentials
- The standard VAT rate in the UAE is 5%.[3]
- A business must register for VAT when its taxable supplies and imports exceed AED 375,000 over the previous 12 months (or are expected to in the next 30 days). It may register voluntarily above AED 187,500.[2]
- Not registered? Don't add VAT and don't show a TRN. Say clearly that the price has no VAT.
- If a price already includes 5% VAT, the VAT part is the price divided by 21.[4]
A quotation is an offer, not a tax invoice. Once the work is supplied, a VAT-registered business must issue a tax invoice within 14 days of the supply.[1] See what a UAE tax invoice must show.
With DuneQuote you send the quote as a WhatsApp link. Your client opens it, sees the AED total with VAT, and accepts with one tap. If they go quiet, we remind you on day 2, 5 and 10 with a ready-to-send follow-up. Documents can be in English, or English + Arabic.
