How VAT works in DuneQuote
You choose. By default you enter unit prices before VAT and, if you are VAT-registered, DuneQuote adds 5% on top: a line of AED 1,000.00 gives AED 1,000.00 + AED 50.00 VAT = AED 1,050.00 total. If your prices already include VAT, tick “My prices include VAT” on the quote, or make it your default in Settings: the total is what you type and DuneQuote shows the VAT inside it, so a line of AED 1,050.00 gives AED 1,000.00 + AED 50.00 VAT = AED 1,050.00. Invoices and credit notes made from that quote keep the same setting.

- VAT-registered? Keep “I'm VAT-registered” ticked in Settings: quotes and invoices show 5% VAT and your TRN.
- Prices already include VAT? Tick “My prices already include VAT” in Settings to make it your default, or tick “My prices include VAT” on a single quote. Quotes you already made don't change.
- Not registered? Untick it: no VAT is added and your quotes and invoices say “Supplier not registered for VAT”.
- Your client sees the total with “VAT incl.” in the WhatsApp message and on the quote page.

From quote to answer
- Create the quote: client name, their WhatsApp number, your lines and unit prices (before VAT, or VAT included if you tick “My prices include VAT”). The quote is saved in your account with its own number.
- Tap Send on WhatsApp: WhatsApp opens with a message ready that shows the total and the quote link. You press send.
- Your client opens the link and accepts or declines. You see the status on your dashboard.
- No answer? Tap Send a follow-up now on the quote. With Pro, First 50 and Pro+, we also email you on day 2, 5 and 10 with the follow-up ready, and email your client a reminder if you added their email. Reminders stop when the client accepts or declines.
- You can edit a quote until your client accepts or declines it.
What DuneQuote does not do
- It never sends WhatsApp messages for you: you always press send in your own WhatsApp.
- It does not need the WhatsApp Business API, and works with the normal or Business WhatsApp app.
- It creates PDF tax invoices on Pro+, but it is not an e-invoicing service provider under the UAE e-invoicing system.[5]
VAT rules that affect your quotes
- The standard VAT rate in the UAE is 5%.[3]
- A business must register for VAT when its taxable supplies and imports exceed AED 375,000 over the previous 12 months (or are expected to in the next 30 days). It may register voluntarily above AED 187,500.[2]
- Not registered? Don't add VAT and don't show a TRN. Say clearly that the price has no VAT.
- If a price already includes 5% VAT, the VAT part is the price divided by 21.[4]

Can I enter prices that already include VAT?
Yes. Tick “My prices include VAT” on the quote, or make it your default in Settings. The total is what you type, and your client sees the amount before VAT, the 5% VAT and the total: AED 1,050.00 = AED 1,000.00 + AED 50.00 VAT. The VAT is worked out on the total (total ÷ 21) and rounded to the fils. Invoices and credit notes made from that quote keep the same setting, and quotes you already made don't change.
Does DuneQuote work if I am not VAT-registered?
Yes. Untick “I'm VAT-registered” in Settings: no VAT is added and your quotes and invoices say “Supplier not registered for VAT”.
Are my quotes saved?
Yes. Every quote you create is saved in your account with its own number. The Free plan includes 5 quotes a month; Pro, First 50 and Pro+ are unlimited.
Can I send the quote as a PDF?
PDF sharing is part of Pro+. On every plan you send the quote as a link that your client opens and accepts on their phone.
How are follow-ups handled?
On every plan you can tap “Send a follow-up now” and WhatsApp opens with the message written; you press send. With Pro, First 50 and Pro+, DuneQuote also emails you on day 2, 5 and 10, and emails your client a reminder if you added their email. DuneQuote never sends WhatsApp messages for you.
How much does it cost?
Free: 5 quotes a month. Pro: AED 29 a month. Pro+: AED 49 a month. First 50 customers: the Pro plan at AED 99 a year while the subscription stays active. All prices VAT included.
